Magereio (the guesthouse kitchen) is the soul of Anemi Guesthouse, as always was the kitchen of the house
The oven, the stove and the open plan kitchen that welcomes our guests, are the reasons why we are delighted at all times to cook delicious plates for our valued guests! We expanded the Magereio, and in the place of the old hand made wood oven, we built a new one according to the Cob building technique, that is with natural materials, clay, earth, straw.
The oven, an ESSE IRONHEART stove and the open plan kitchen that welcomes our guests, are the reasons why we are delighted at all times to cook delicious plates for our valued guests! In our Magereio, we also have a old loom. After a 3 minutes seminar anyone can weave!
On our monastic tables, made from local black pine (pinus nigra), we eat, drink, talk for hours. In our Inn you will find all necessary ingredients to make jams and chutney or pasta, as well as also various other materials to experiment with. Tempera, charcoal and drawing paper, wool to make the first simple steps to make Felt (fabric construction technique from sheep’s wool), binoculars for bird watching from our courtyard or your room, a telescope to look at the stars (and airplanes!), raincoats and umbrellas to walk in the rain, a guide to spot wild mushrooms … and in case you have forgotten your toothbrush just ask us, we will have one! Our favorite material, wool for Felt and for the loom, sourced directly from sheep shearing that takes place in May, a celebration not to be missed! Every single season in Zagori, is bursting with things that make life beautiful!
And in Anemi we want to celebrate life!
